Tbilisi National Park

Tbilisi National Park is located on the territories of Mtskheta-Mtianeti, Kvemo Kartli and Tbilisi, at an altitude of 600-1700 meters above sea level, directly surrounding Tbilisi. It is the first national park in Georgia, established in 1973. It later lost its status as a national park and was re-established in 2007 on the basis of part of the original national park and the Saguramo Reserve.

There are hiking and horseback riding trails in Tbilisi National Park, as well as car and bicycle routes. There are also picnic and camping places.

The natural trails of the park allow the visitor to enjoy the diverse landscapes, to see the sights, or arrange picnics.

In and near the park you will find such important historical and cultural monuments as Mtskheta, Svetitskhoveli, Jvari Monastery, Zedazani Monastery, Norio Castle, Martkopi Valley and others.

Tbilisi National Park is rich in fauna. 46 endemic species of small mammals live here. There are also the Red List species, including the eastern imperial eagle, great spotted eagle, Levant sparrowhawk, red deer, brown bear, and lynx.
