On June 28, 2021, representative of the Mtskheta-Mtianeti Destination Management Initiative (Mtskheta-Mtianeti DMI) Ana Zviadauri together with Kristyna Fantova, the new director of the Czech organization Agora Central Europe visited Mtskheta, Dusheti, and Tianeti Municipalities as well as Deputy of Mtskheta-Mtianeti Governor Matsatso Narimanidze.
The purpose of the meeting was to introduce to the representatives of the City Halls the activities and goals of Mtskheta-Mtianeti DMI, which was established with the financial support of the Czech Development Agency. The project is implemented by the Czech non-governmental organization Agora CE.
The meeting once again highlighted the desire for cooperation and the need to support tourism in the post-pandemic period, during which micro, small, and medium-sized businesses working in the tourism sector especially need marketing and product advertising support. The project will focus on the promotion of less popular tourist destinations and will promote a relatively equal distribution of tourists in the Mtskheta-Mtianeti region.
