Field visit in Dusheti

The Mayor of Dusheti Municipality, Mrs. Matsatso Narimanidze and the representative of Mtskheta-Mtianeti DMI Ana Zviadauri visited the section of the old Georgian Military Highway between the city Dusheti and Ananuri.

It should be noted that the old route of the Georgian military road had great importance for Dusheti, as it was following several villages of Dusheti, which in itself contributed to cultural, social and economic development.

There are several important architectural monuments left on the Dusheti-Ananuri section, including the "Stantsia", where Alexander Dumas spent the night while he was traveling to the Caucasus, as well as the ancient bridges, the Chilashvili Palace, houses and churches.

This route has a very interesting tourist potential in both historical and cultural contexts.

Mrs. Matsatso Narimanidze, Mayor of Dusheti Municipality is personally involved and interested in the restoration and popularization of this tourist route of the old military road.
