Bochorma complex - a very interesting architectural and historical monument - is located in the Tianeti municipality. The exact date of its construction is not known, although it is first mentioned in written sources in the tenth century. During this period it was an important strategic point and the political center of Kakheti and maintained its military purpose until the end of the eighteenth century. Bochorma fortress underwent many changes and reached us in a very damaged condition.
The fence, the walls of which follow the mountain relief, consists of two parts. The main one is the inner fortress. In its southern part, there are the ruins of a palace, which was probably two-storied. The entrance to the castle is on the east side, with towers embedded in its walls. In the center of the fortress stands the church of St. George, which dates back to the tenth century.
In addition to the church and the castle, the Bochorma complex includes defensive and agricultural buildings.
